Thank you for considering Journey Center for Safety and Healing as a place to invest your time and talent.

Journey is looking for volunteers to assist with outreach. In this role, volunteers will represent Journey Center in the community at health fairs, resource fairs, and events. Volunteers must be comfortable in proactively engaging passersby.

Support those impacted by domestic violence and get involved with Journey. Community outreach is fun and easy – each engagement is different. This is a great way to be involved in the community.

This position sees, shares, and communicates (through education and community engagement) about domestic violence (DV), which could include people currently or previously impacted by DV. You must be comfortable talking about these topics and engaging with people actively experiencing DV.

The application deadline is January 21, 2026.

Expectations:

  • Volunteer with Journey at least once per quarter. Not doing so may require additional training.

  • Pick up outreach materials from Journey before each volunteer engagement and return materials to Journey within 2 business days after each volunteer engagement.

  • Attend two trainings:

    • Monday, February 16, 2026, 5:30p-7:30p

    • Wednesday, February 18, 2026, 5:30p-7:30p

Meals That Heal

Journey Center for Safety and Healing is looking for individuals/groups to donate a meal for our emergency shelter site.

Guidelines:

  • Dinner to be provided for 50 individuals (approximately 25 women and 25 children).

  • Please let us know at least 2 weeks in advance of the date you would prefer to come.

  • Please coordinate with us one week in advance what you plan to provide for the meal.

  • All meals must be prepared ahead of time.

  • Please make sure everything is in disposable containers such as aluminum pans.

  • Journey reserves the right to limit who is accepted to provide meals.

  • Last-minute cancellations present a hardship for the shelter, as staff has to re-plan a meal for 50 people. We ask that any cancellations be at least 72 hours in advance. Please call to cancel.

  • Further details will be provided upon scheduling.
