  • Journey Center is seeking a Part-Time Art Therapist to provide art therapy and facilitate therapeutic groups to youth and adult victims of domestic violence at Journey Centers Emergency Shelter.

    Position and job type: Part-time, Hourly Non-exempt, 12 hours/week

    Schedule: Evening and non-traditional hours required

    Duties include but not limited to:

    • Assist youth advocate in planning group and induvial activities in the Emergency Shelter

    • Provide and facilitate support groups with children

    • Monitor safety of youth communal space

    • Knowledge of childhood development and compassion in work with children who have experienced domestic violence and/or child abuse

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in art therapy required

    • Experience in direct service with early childhood, pre-adolescent and adolescent clients required

  • Journey Center is seeking a full time Community Advocate within our DVHFI program to work with survivors’ access to Rapid Rehousing. The Community Advocate - DVHFI provides case management, safety planning, and advocacy. Assists clients in achieving goals to increase safety, maintain safe housing and build self-sufficiency. The Community Advocate - DVHFI will work collaboratively with EDEN, Frontline, Jewish Family Services and Catholic Charities. This position is office/community based.

    Position and job type: Full-time, Non-exempt, Starting Hourly rate $19.23

    Schedule: Work hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm

    Duties include but not limited to:

    • Meet with clients monthly in order to review established goals, current needs, concerns, barriers, and successes

    • Maintain program/case records

    • Assist clients in obtaining entitlement and linkages to community resources

    • Continue work with clients leaving shelter and moving into Rapid Rehousing program

    • Provide case management, crisis intervention, safety planning, and advocacy to clients

    • Provide safety planning

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in the areas of domestic violence and child abuse

    • Must have and maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license and appropriate insurance coverage; Must maintain appropriate driving record

    • 2 years’ experience working with domestic violence and/or child abuse, trauma, case management preferred

  • Journey Center is seeking a Full-Time Supportive Services Manager to oversee all direct client services at our Emergency Shelter. This provides oversight of the day-to-day operation at shelter and programming including groups, shelter activities and direct supervision to Coordinators and Advocates and ensures services delivered to clients are carried out in accordance with the agency’s mission and best practices.

    Position and job type: Full-time, Salary Exempt, Salary range 48k-52k

    Schedule: Work hours are Monday-Friday, some evening and non-traditional hours required.

    Duties include but not limited to:

    • Oversee all aspects of the emergency shelter

    • Supervise emergency shelter staff

    • Maintain relationships with outside agencies and relationships with internal staff to promote transitions out of shelter

    • Rotating schedule of on call duties

    • Oversee delivery of client services

    • Oversee delivery of programming

    • Shelter process Quality Assurance

    • Knowledge of fiscal aspect of shelter programs

    • Assist with providing coverage of shelter

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required

    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience providing supervision

    • Experience working with victims of domestic violence preferred

  • Journey Center for Safety and Healing (formerly known as Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center) is seeking a full time Therapist to provide individual, group, and telehealth therapy services to adult or child victims of child abuse and/or domestic violence. This is position is office/community based.

    Schedule: Work hours are Monday – Friday, 10am-6pm or 11a-7p

    Position and job type: Full-time, Exempt, Salary $50,000 - $60,000. Hybrid work available.

    Duties include but not limited to:

    • Provide mental health services including diagnostic assessments, individual behavioral health therapy, group behavioral health therapy, and telehealth therapy.

    • Conduct education programs for clients

    • Provide information, referral and helpline services.

    • Maintain program/case records

    • Maintain current licensure in the state of Ohio.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling required

    • Must have LSW or LPC; LISW or LPCC preferred

  • Journey Center for Safety and Healing (formerly known as Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center) is seeking a PRN (as needed) advocate for our confidential shelter.

    Work hours vary depending on the need, some evening needed.

    Position and job type: PRN. Hourly rate $15.75

    Duties include but not limited to:

    • Answering 24-Hour Helpline

    • Offering information and referrals

    • Performing phone intakes

    • Providing crisis intervention, advocacy, information and referral to shelter residents

    • Determining eligibility of individuals requesting shelter

    • Providing ongoing support and case management to residents

    • Mediating conflict among shelter residents

    • Maintaining documentation

    • Walking facility

    • Light housekeeping

    • Engaging with residents

    • Checking for safety and sanitation

    • Participating in shift change

    Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field or equivalent years of experience preferred. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Journey Center for Safety and Healing (formerly known as Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center) is seeking part time Visitation Monitors for our Safe and Sound Supervised Visitation Center.

    Work hours are Friday-Sunday. We are closed major holidays. This position is a continuous need. Hourly rate $15.75

    Duties include, but not limited to:

    • Monitor visits between parents and children

    • Monitor exchanges of children between parents

    • Model and teach appropriate parent-child behavior

    High School diploma and two years working with youth and families required. Qualified applicants must have a working knowledge of domestic violence and child abuse issues. Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred. Bilingual in Spanish & English a plus.
