Journey Center’s Domestic Violence Housing First Initiative (DVHFI) provides short-term emergency housing assistance for individuals or families fleeing domestic violence. Journey’s Domestic Violence Housing First Initiative will quickly connect domestic violence victims to stable housing, regardless of whether or not they come into Shelter.
Gaining self-sufficiency away from an abuser has tremendous ripple effects throughout the survivor’s family and community.
Children are no longer exposed to abuse
Survivors are less likely to lose their job
The health, homeless, and child welfare systems may be used less
The generational cycle of violence and poverty is more likely to end
For more information about our DVHFI program watch our DVHFI program service video.

Information about RRH and DVHFI
EDEN has the final say on bedroom size and rent amount offered to the property managers/owner. Journey Center does not make that determination and cannot advocate for increases.
This is an independent program. This means, you must be able to call property owners/management, view units, and remain in contact with your advocate on a weekly basis to be successful. EDEN housing assistance is not guaranteed, this will depend on your engagement and willingness to view units weekly.
The average time between the initial appointment and reaching safe housing is 60-100 days.
If you need immediate assistance:
Call Journey Center’s 24-Hour Helpline: 216.391.4357 (HELP) to talk with an Advocate.
